Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nanking porcelain refers to Chinese underglaze cobalt blue and white porcelain made in Jingdezhen primarily for export to European and American markets during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The patterns typically depict pavilions, bridges, river scenes, and stylized geometric borders.

These pieces were crafted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain clay containing kaolin and petuntse. Artisans painted detailed landscape compositions by hand using cobalt blue pigment directly onto the unfired porcelain body before applying a clear glaze and firing at high temperatures.

Authentic period export porcelain often exhibits slight irregularities in the potted form, pinhole indentations or subtle orange-peel textures in the glaze, and unglazed foot rims showing smooth white porcelain paste with light iron staining near the glaze edge.

An antique platter can be displayed upright on a wooden plate stand on a sideboard top, placed as a focal point in a dresser display, or wall-mounted alongside complementary blue and white ceramics in a curated gallery wall arrangement.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild detergent applied with a soft non-abrasive cloth. Avoid submerging damaged or repaired areas in water, and never place antique porcelain in automatic dishwashers or use chemical detergents.
