Description

A 19th Century Mahogany Wellington Chest.

With a rectangular top, finished with crossbanded facings, over a pair of stay rails, topped by curling leaf brackets, one stay rail hinging open with the original lock and key, to release the graduated drawers, each with knob handles. The two middle drawers being a false front, opening to a secretaire, the fall enclosing an arrangement of pigeon holes, faced in walnut, above a pair of drawers, faced in maple and with walnut knob handles. The chest standing o n a plinth base with a chamfered edge.

Height 49 1/2 inches, 125.5cm.

Width 22 inches, 56cm.

Depth 16 inches, 40.5cm.
