Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Nesting tables originated in 18th-century Europe and were rapidly adapted by Chinese craftsmen for export and local luxury markets during the Qing Dynasty. Traditional designs integrated classical Chinese joinery with functional cascading forms suited for compact tea services and displaying decorative objects.

Traditional pieces utilise dense tropical hardwoods such as huanghuali, zitan, or rosewood, prized for their rich grain and natural lustre. Construction relies on precise mortise-and-tenon joinery and floating panel tops to accommodate seasonal timber movement without requiring metal fasteners.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut frame-and-panel joinery, hand-carved relief work, and natural patination along structural edges. The absence of modern screws, wire nails, or synthetic lacquers usually indicates traditional handcraftsmanship.

These versatile pieces can be layered beside a sofa to create depth or separated across a room as individual accent tables and plant stands. The rich warm timber provides a grounding visual contrast against contemporary neutral textiles and clean architectural lines.

Dust regularly using a dry, soft microfibre cloth along the direction of the wood grain. To protect the timber finish, apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally and keep the furniture away from direct heat sources or intense sunlight.
