Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A half doll is a porcelain upper torso produced predominantly between 1900 and 1930, designed to be attached to textile items such as pincushions, whisk brooms, or tea cosies. During the Art Deco era, these figures frequently depicted stylish flappers with modern bobbed haircuts and theatrical poses.

The upper body and attached limbs were crafted from fine moulded porcelain or bisque ceramic, hand-painted and glazed. The lower skirt portion was typically hand-sewn from silk, velvet, or cotton textiles, often stuffed to create a pincushion or vanity ornament.

Authentic period pieces often feature impressed manufacturer marks or mold numbers near the waist rim, fine facial detail with delicate hand-painted features, and small waist holes designed for attaching textiles. German makers such as Fasold & Stauch and Goebel were prominent producers of this style.

These decorative objects work well as accent pieces on a dressing table, vanity unit, bedside cabinet, or within a curated display cabinet. They complement Art Deco, vintage boudoir, and eclectic maximalist decor schemes.

Dust the porcelain element gently with a soft, dry brush or microfibre cloth, taking care around delicate hand-painted areas. Protect the fabric skirt from direct sunlight to prevent fading and keep away from damp environments to preserve the internal stuffing.
