Late Georgian pastel landscapes from the late 18th century emphasized pastoral scenery, romanticized depictions of nature, and soft tonal transitions characteristic of dry pigment mediums. Artists frequently depicted natural landmarks, rural cottages, streams, and idealized outdoor figures framed within classic giltwood mouldings.
