A 19th century mahogany knitting sheath which a believe is a “Durham Sheath” as it has the glass panel with the inscription in. Lovely condition message reads “Elizabeth Chambers, the gift is seal Respect is all JC 1858. From the message I am guessing it was given as a token of love.
