The upper section features a pair of cabinet doors, each centred with an oval porcelain plaque depicting delicate bird scenes, framed within ornate ormolu surrounds. These doors open to reveal interior shelving, providing useful storage while maintaining an elegant visual balance. Below, two finely inlaid drawers echo the quality and craftsmanship seen throughout the piece.

The lower section incorporates a pull-out writing slide, lined with a red writing surface and fitted with internal compartments, combining practicality with decorative appeal. The shaped apron displays flowing marquetry motifs, while the whole is raised on slender cabriole legs, each adorned with finely cast gilt-bronze mounts and sabots.

Elegant, decorative, and highly functional, this bonheur du jour is ideal as a writing desk, dressing table, or statement piece within refined period, traditional, or eclectic interiors.
