This original Victorian pine table is a beautiful example of authentic country furniture, possessing a level of character and "time-worn" patina that only comes with age. Featuring a highly desirable three-plank scrub top, the table was stripped many years ago, allowing the timber to mellow naturally into a soft, faded pine tone while avoiding the harsh orange hues often found in later restorations. At 1055mm by 625mm , its smaller, more intimate form makes it an incredibly versatile piece, perfect as a breakfast table for two, a stylish hall console, or a characterful writing desk.
While the table displays historic woodworm marks on the legs, side rails, and top, these have aged beautifully over the decades, adding a charming, textured patina that serves as a testament to its long history. For complete peace of mind, we have treated the piece again in our workshop to ensure it remains inactive. Structurally, the table has been fully restored; all joints have been tightened and secured, ensuring it is rock-solid with no wobbles or loose legs. We have finished the piece with a high-quality wax to protect the delicate, faded finish while highlighting the unique story of the timber. This is a solid, honest, and structurally perfect table for those who appreciate true antique soul and is in home ready condition.
Condition and Provenance 1 of the legs of this table has had a repair (halving joint) splice to the bottom, this is a historic repair and is structurally solid, it does not stand out to the eye. As an antique, this table does still show lots of signs of age and use. While in fantastic condition, expect marks, dents and scratches consistent with historical pieces.
