Bernard Moore was a British potter best known for his delicate use of colored glazes. The artist incorporated aesthetics inspired by Chinese ceramics, specifically the glazes used in pottery making during the Ming Dynasty. Born on January 13, 1850 in Longton, United Kingdom, Moore joined his father’s pottery business, Samuel Moore & Son, in 1865 and took over the company upon his father’s death in 1867. His works are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the British Museum in London, among others. Moore died on April 3, 1935, at the age of 85 in Draycott-in-the-Moores, UK
