A very nice, early, and larger than normal, Georgian Sterling Silver and gilt Vinaigrette hallmarked for Birmingham 1798 by rare makers Ford & Slater.
Opening to reveal a gilded pierced grille, underneath the grille is the sponge. Very nice starburst engraving to the lid, initials to the cartouche.
A quality piece of Georgian silver from a rare maker, whose items are scarce and don’t come to the market often.
Measuring approximately 4 cm x 3cm x 1.5 cm and weighs 18.7 grams.
In very good antique condition, hallmarks are good, internal gilding good, initials engraved to cartouche, a few small dings & scratches, usual signs of wear commensurate of age and use.
