The shaped fall-front is beautifully inlaid with intricate geometric parquetry, framed by elegant brass banding, and surmounted by a pierced gilt-bronze gallery rail - a hallmark of high-quality Parisian furniture of the period.
The fall opens to reveal a fitted writing interior with a writing surface, shaped internal drawers, and compartments for correspondence and stationery. Below, the serpentine apron mirrors the refined parquetry detailing, while the whole piece stands on four elegantly shaped cabriole legs, each richly embellished with finely chased ormolu mounts terminating in decorative sabots.
