A well-modelled bronze group depicting two dogs engaged in lively interaction, one rearing upon the other, captured with a strong sense of movement and naturalistic observation. The composition displays careful attention to anatomy and texture, particularly in the detailed treatment of the coats and expressive poses, characteristic of Valton’s animal studies.
Signed CH. VALTON to the base, and raised on an oval plinth. The bronze has a rich brown patina and is in good condition.
