Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this Anglo Indian Carved Table to the 1860s.
Rising from the platform are four large, beautifully carved tigers which connect to four carved and fretted panels with a matching fruit and vine design.

The panels support a substantial carved central circular column which rises to the rectangular platform to which the hinged top is connected and can be hinged and raised by releasing the ornate brass catch for display or storage.

The magnificent table top is circular but has a shaped serpentine profile edge with a carved and pierced frieze which matches the decoration of the base.
The top is made from two substantial, solid pieces of book matched padauk wood and has a lovely colour and patina.
This rare and highly decorative table is a statement piece and one of the best of its type.
