S and S Timms Antiques Ltd has dated this Mahogany Revolving Bookcase to the 19th Century.
They wanted to create something more elegant and more aesthetically pleasing, whilst still retaining practicality, hence the evolution of the small open bookcase.

These bookcases became extremely popular and can be found in a huge variety of designs and quality now. As a general rule any with inlaid decoration and the metal support bases are regarded as the best of their type as they boast both elegance and practicality.

You will note that this particular revolving bookcase has some very attractive inliad decoration to the top, which in combination with the superbly figured mahogany makes it very elegant indeed. It also has a metal base and this adds to the practicality, making it very sturdy and fit for purpose.

As with all items we offer for sale this 19th Century Mahogany Revolving Bookcase has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled, specialist trained, antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale to ensure that it is in excellent condition and ready for immediate placement within the home.
