Description

This is an attractive early 19th century Marcolini Meissen porcelain two handled bowl and cover decorated delightfully and comprehensively with a variety of flowers and gilt.

The cover had two oval panels depicting floral groups, and a lemon form finial, the body has two scrolled handles.

The bowl has the blue crossed swords and star mark to the base.

In very good condition with no cracks or chips but there is an area inside which is only visibly yellowed and bright under Uv, indicating it has been restored.

The Marcolini period refers to Meissen porcelain produced between 1774 and 1814 under the direction of Count Camillo Marcolini. This era is characterised by Neoclassical design influences, elaborate gilding, intricate floral cartouches, and rich enamel palettes.
