Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian pine furniture refers to wooden domestic pieces produced during the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901), characterized by solid soft wood construction, turned legs, simple moulding details, and functional storage designs.

Victorian pine chests were constructed using solid Scots pine or imported European red pine, featuring hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, tongue-and-groove backboards, turned wooden or glass handles, and carved architectural upstands or galleries.

Authentic Victorian pine pieces exhibit signs of hand-planed surfaces, irregular hand-cut dovetails, original brass or iron lock mechanisms, hand-carved shaped backboards, and natural age-related wear around drawer runners and base feet.

A Victorian pine chest can be integrated into modern spaces by pairing its warm timber tones with neutral wall colours, contemporary ceramic ceramics on top, or minimalist artwork mounted directly above the gallery back.

To maintain antique pine, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply beeswax polish once or twice a year following the grain direction; keep the piece away from direct heat sources to prevent timber shrinkage and cracking.
