Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Late 18th-century Georgian silver cream jugs frequently feature Neoclassical helmet or urn shapes set upon square pedestal bases. This era favoured restrained elegance, beaded rims, loop handles, and balanced proportions inspired by classical antiquity.

Georgian hollowware was raised by hand from sheets of sterling silver, which consists of 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with copper for structural durability. Details such as pedestal bases, cast handles, and beaded rims were wrought separately and soldered to the main body.

Authentic London sterling silver from this era bears a hallmark suite including the leopards head crowned town mark, the lion passant sterling quality mark, a date letter, the sovereigns duty mark, and a makers mark. These punch marks are typically stamped into the underside of the base or near the upper rim.

An antique silver jug serves as a sophisticated accent piece on a dining room sideboard, coffee table tray, or mantelpiece. It can be displayed independently to showcase its reflective surface or repurposed as a small vase for floral arrangements.

Clean silver with a soft cloth and a specialised, non-abrasive silver polish formulated to remove tarnish without stripping patination. Store pieces in anti-tarnish cloth bags in a dry, low-humidity environment to minimise oxidisation and prevent surface scratching.
