Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the Thames Valley region of England during the 18th century, these chairs are classic examples of English country furniture. They are distinguished by steam-bent hoop backs, pierced central splats often featuring wheel motifs, and solid wooden saddle seats.

Windsor chairs were traditionally constructed using a combination of native hardwoods, primarily yew wood for the steam-bent back hoops and armbows, elm for the contoured saddle seat, and ash or beech for the turned legs and spindles.

Authentic pieces feature distinct grain patterns characteristic of yew wood, hand-carved splats, hand-shaped saddle seats displaying historic adze marks, and natural wear patterns on the stretcher and armrests consistent with long-term use.

A single Windsor chair serves as a functional accent piece in a contemporary hallway, living room corner, or paired alongside a modern desk to introduce historic texture and warmth to minimal spaces.

Keep the chair away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber shrinkage or cracking. Regular application of a high-quality beeswax polish will protect the original surface finish and preserve the patina.
