DLS Antiques has dated this Doulton Slaters Ceramic Vase to the Edwardian era.

"The distinctive feature of Chine Ware is a textured netted background surface obtained by pressing moistened pieces of old point lace linen and other fabrics into the soft clay soon after the pots had come to the wheel." (' The Doulton Lambeth Wares', page 177, Louise Irvine)

'Royal Doulton England' and partial 'Doulton Slaters Patent' impressed backstamps on base plus the number 5562.
It also has the initials Eb impressed which is possibly Ethel Beard (1890-1930) a Doulton Ware Assistant.

In excellent condition with no cracks or restoration. For accuracy there is a miniscule 2 millimeter imperfection on rim as photographed but difficult to spot and some light gilt wear.
A quite striking vase
