Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bohemian ruby glass gained immense popularity during the 19th century, produced primarily in the historic region of Bohemia. Craftsmen perfected techniques such as ruby flashing and copper-wheel engraving to create intricate pictorial scenes and geometric patterns on decorative table glass.

These pieces were typically made by applying a thin outer layer of ruby-coloured glass over clear crystal, known as flashing or casing. Artisans then used wheel-engraving and facet-cutting tools to slice through the red layer, exposing the underlying clear glass to create contrast.

Authentic period pieces exhibit crisp, hand-engraved details with slight variations, polished pontil marks on the base, and age-appropriate shelf wear. The depth of the cut-to-clear technique should reveal smooth edges and precise geometric proportions.

Position glass tumblers on a tray, sideboard top, or backlit display shelf to capture ambient light through the coloured glass. The vibrant red accent complements dark wood furniture, brass metalwork, and curated bar cart arrangements.

Wash antique glass by hand using lukewarm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, hot water cycles, and automated dishwashers, which can dull the surface or cause thermal shock fractures.
