A very good George III rectangular silver snuff box with all-over machine-turned decoration, the lid with a raised foliate thumb-piece, inscribed ‘Lucifers’ (friction matches, invented 1826). The interior with the original lustrous fire gilding.
Condition: In excellent collector’s condition with minimal wear, the lid a snug fit. Good hallmarks, no wear to gilding.
