Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Created during the reign of King Edward VII, Edwardian silver table items often combined ribbed glass forms with polished sterling silver fittings. These pieces reflected a transition from heavily ornamented Victorian styles toward lighter lines and practical dining accessories.

Traditional pepper mills from this period combine sterling silver mounts with moulded or cut glass containers. The internal grinding mechanism generally consists of steel components to ensure functional performance.

Authentic British sterling silver pieces feature a series of official hallmarks stamped into the metal surface. These marks include the assay office mark, the lion passant for silver purity, a date letter, and a maker mark.

Position the pepper grinder alongside modern ceramic tableware or on a wooden dining sideboard to create visual contrast. Displaying functional silver objects on a dining table adds texture and balance to present-day interiors.

Clean silver mounts using a soft cloth with silver polish, ensuring the compound does not settle in glass grooves. Wash glass components carefully with mild soapy water, avoiding submersion of internal steel mechanisms to prevent oxidisation.
