Highly attractive needlework in fine wools and silk threads depicting a bucolic scene of a gentleman overseeing a lady spinning wool surrounded by sheep and a gambolling dog, above are exotic birds. Likely to be the front panel for a casket that was never completed as the brass escutcheon, a twin faced example, is present but the keyhole was never cut into the needlework. The condition is good with minor losses and fading which has created a soft tonal palette.
In modern frame with linen border
