Imari porcelain refers to hard-paste porcelain wares produced in the Arita region of Saga Prefecture, Japan, and exported globally via the port of Imari. Characterised by a distinctive palette of underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red enamel, and gold gilding, these ceramics often showcase complex botanical and geometric patterns.

Traditional Imari ceramics are crafted from kaolin-rich porcelain clay, fired at high temperatures for strength.
