An exquisite French open armchair c 1880 with rare French petit point tapestry panels of a much greater age c 1780 from the reign of Louis XVI.
Provence, The panels were purchased from lady Penelope Sitwell of Renishaw Hall in around 2004 and placed on the chair which was professionally repainted at the same time. The panels are in great condition with only minor loss as seen in the close up of the seat back panel. seat height 46 cm
