An Imari charger is a large decorative porcelain display plate originally produced in the Arita region of Japan and exported via the port of Imari, frequently featuring intricate blue underglaze designs or overglaze enamel decoration.

These ceramics are crafted from kaolin clay and decorated using natural cobalt oxide applied directly onto the unfired porcelain body before being covered in a clear glaze and fired at high temperatures.
