Description

A reticulated Coalport vase and cover decorated in the celebrated Coalbrookdale flower-encrusted manner. The pierced botanical body rises from leaf-formed openwork with stylised foliage handles. Numerous individually applied flowers—each petal hand-formed and enamelled—create a richly textured surface, complemented by pale turquoise panels and rococo scrollwork. A partially preserved red crown mark appears beneath. Comparable examples at the Victoria and Albert Museum illustrate the technical ambition of Coalport’s early- to mid-19th-century production.
