A fine elegant pair of early 19th century French Empire period gilt bronze ormolu and pantinated bronze neoclassical figural candlesticks. Beautifully designed anthemion decorated candle cups with their original bobeches. Tasseled fringed drip tray which sits on a classical architectural capital. Draped maidens holding floral wreaths in each hand standing on columns with an anthemion decorated base. Slight losses to fringing at back and bases drilled for conversion to electricity at some point in the 19th century. Very attractive examples with definate similarities to examples attributed to Thomire and Claude Galle.
