Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Grand Tour Spinario is a nineteenth-century scale reduction of the ancient Greco-Roman bronze sculpture known as the Boy with Thorn. These pieces were produced in Italy as educational souvenirs for European aristocrats completing their cultural travels.

These sculptures were produced using lost-wax or sand-casting techniques in solid bronze, finished with hand-applied patinas in shades of dark brown or green, and mounted on marble, porphyry, or stone plinths.

Authentic period examples demonstrate high-quality hand chasing, sharp anatomical definition, natural wear on high points, crisp foundry stamps or maker signatures, and period-appropriate marble bases.

Position the figure on a sideboard, executive desk, or within a library bookcase alcove to create a striking textural contrast against contemporary wall finishes and modern furniture.

Dust the surface regularly using a dry microcrystalline microfiber cloth or soft brush. Apply microcrystalline wax sparingly once a year to preserve the patina, avoiding liquid solvents or harsh abrasive cleaners.
