Large English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Inkwell - 1927

Description

A stunning large piece of crystal was used to create this impressive desk accessory. The underside has been beautifully cut in the ever-popular hobnail design, always very tactile, a couple of tiny bruises on a couple of high points of the cut, totally insignificant but mentioned for accuracy.

A nice feature of this piece is the cut channels on the top on all four sides, which act as a pen rest for a dip pen.

The sterling silver lid is hinged & in perfect working order, the collar bears the full English hallmark for London 1927. The makers initials, F H, are also present for the silversmith, Fernand Haville.

This hefty piece lends itself to acting as a paperweight on top of the desk. Excellent condition, measuring 4" square.
