Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.

The hinged lid opens to reveal the original powder blue Opaline glass liner in perfect condition with a ground pontil on the underside, showing it is hand blown and made in the late nineteenth century. The interior of the lid is where the makers marks are to be found W W H S and EP under a crown within a shield; these marks are for he Sheffield silversmith, W.W. HARRISON and the EP for Electro Plate.

A splendid grand example in excellent condition measuring 7 1/2" in height and the integral tray measuring 7" in diameter.
