Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco clock design from the 1930s is defined by bold geometric shapes, clean aerodynamic lines, and stylized typography for numerical indicators. Influenced by modern industrial design, these timepieces moved away from ornate traditional casings in favour of streamlined, architectural silhouettes.

Art Deco clocks frequently featured modern industrial metals such as polished chrome, brass, and nickel alongside early plastics like Bakelite and Lucite. Enamelled bases, silvered metal dials, and bevelled glass covers were also widely utilized to create contrasting textures and high-shine finishes.

Authentic mechanical clocks from the 1930s feature manual wind key mechanisms, often stamped with movement details such as 8 Days or country of manufacture marks on the dial face or backplate. Genuine period examples show authentic patination on metal parts and lack modern quartz battery compartments.

An Art Deco desk clock functions well as a focal point on an executive office desk, bookshelf, or fireplace mantel. Its strong metallic accents complement minimalist contemporary furniture as well as dark wood tones in dark academia or vintage-inspired spaces.

Clean chrome surfaces using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints without dulling the finish. Mechanical movements require periodic servicing by a qualified horologist every few years to keep the gear trains clean and properly oiled.
