Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Cut to clear glass, also known as flashed or cased glass, is produced by fusing a coloured layer of glass over a clear base layer before cutting geometric patterns through the outer layer to expose the clear glass beneath.

Cobalt glass was created by adding cobalt oxide to molten lead crystal or soda-lime glass, producing a deep blue hue that remained stable during reheating, casing, and wheel-cutting processes.

Authentic Victorian cut glass features hand-finished cut edges, subtle irregularities in hand-blown shapes, smooth pontil marks on the base, and characteristic weight associated with lead crystal content.

Position the vase near natural light sources, such as a window sill or glass-topped table, where light can pass through the clear cut facets to illuminate the blue casing.

Wash the glass by hand using warm water with mild detergent, avoiding abrasive pads and sudden temperature changes, and dry immediately with a soft lint-free cloth to prevent water spots.
