Marked with Reg Number: 541742 for the year 1909.

This refers to Locomotion No.1, designed by George and Robert Stephenson. It was the first steam locomotive to haul a passenger train on the Stockton & Darlington Railway, which opened in 1825. This plaque commemorates events from nearly 200 years ago, celebrating the dawn of the steam railway age.
