Victorian earrings formed from Two Annas - small coins featuring the head of Queen Victoria which circulated in India between 1841 and 1849. The coins were made of 917 grade silver and this pair has been gilded in a lovely rich gold colour.
 
• Condition: In very good antique condition, with minor surface wear.
 
• Fixing: Gilded silver ear wires.
 
• Hallmarks/stamps: The wires are unmarked (test as sterling silver), the coins are stamped EAST INDIA COMPANY, TWO ANNAS 1841, with the Persian characters for Two Annas beneath.
 
• Era: 1841.
 
• Size: 1.5cm diameter.
 
• Weight: 3.1g.
