Wonderful antique oil painting of a shepherd herding his flock of sheep

Glorious work of art is by Belgium artist Henry Schouten 1857-1927

We date this piece to circa 1890

Great work of art by a collectable artist

Very detailed, the quality to the brushwork is phenomenal

Henry Schouten was a Belgian artist best known for painting farmyard scenes of animals in their environment. In addition Schouten was also known to paint peasants, hunters, and herdsmen as well, as seen in his canvas 'Walker with Dogs'
