Splendid Country Stool - c1820 - Lacemakers

Stunning Elm & Ash stool with Lacemaker X-stretcher.

This charming Country Stool is wonderfully presented and an excellent example. It is believed to originate from the Olney area of England.

The Elm seat displays beautifully and is dished perfectly. The seat rides upon a quad of simply turned legs which are united by an X-star stretcher.

A stool that will delight for many years to come, it is simple, yet very well proportioned and just ticks all the boxes. The colour is great, the timber looks gorgeous and the design is so pure. Just perfect.

An excellent example of English country craftsmanship and a very honest piece of furniture.
