Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
Constructed of first class mahogany which has matured over the decades into a deep rich colour with fabulous grain and patina.
It has been prfessionally restored and French polished so the top is in unmarked condition and of course the additonal leaves are exactly the same colour.
The grain is truly wonderful but what really makes this table stand out are the fabulous legs. To the top there are square panels into which are carved oak leaves and acorns, then wonderful turning with acanthus leaves and then the Tudor rose emblem below. They are then fluted and taper slightly ending in polished brass cups and castors. Although the castors are replacements we ensured they were near identical to those removed due to them being decayed.
It has two additional leaves which are of different widths which gives you the options depending on how many people you wish to seat.
It measures 46 " x 82 " when fully extended, 46 " x 57 " when fully closed, one leaf measures 14.5 " and the other 10.5 ". It stands 30.25 " high and 24 " from the floor to bottom of the apron.
It seats 8 comfortably when fully extended.
This table has been sympathetically restored whilst still retaining its original features. The smallest leaf is not original to this table and looks as though it has come from another table but definately of the same period and the colour is exactly the same but this in no way detracts from the table at all.
A fabulous piece of genuine antique Victorian furniture which would grace any period home.
Delivery for this table is normally free for mainland England and Wales, unfortunately as we are based in Cornwall it is not viable for us to deliver to Scotland or Northern Ireland.
