'Connemara Hills, from Kilkerrin Bay' Oil Painting by C Caldwell

An absolutely beautiful mid twentieth century oil on board painting entitled ‘Connemara Hills, From Kilkerrin Bay’ by Irish artist Charles McNeil Caldwell. The painting shows a landscape of sea and mountains, and is presented in a gilt frame.

Charles McNeil Caldwell was post-impressionist Irish artist, who was also a Presbyterian minister in Galway from the late 1940’s until 1978. He died in 1983.

I absolutely love this painting and it’s definitely one I’d be tempted to keep if I had any space left at home to put it! The colours and use of light are fantastic, and it’s really well painted. Just lovely.

Condition: The painting itself appears to be in very good condition. The frame has a few areas where the plasterwork has been damaged and touched up, and a few small chips - please see the photos.

Including the frame, 49.5cm wide, 44.5cm tall, 7cm deep. The image size is approximately 32.2cm wide by 27cm tall.
