An exceptionally pretty moonstone and seed pearl cluster ring dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period.
The ring is finely crafted in 15 carat yellow gold and set with an oval cabochon moonstone displaying a strong silvery adularescence. Surrounding it is a border of well-matched natural seed pearls, their soft lustre enhancing the stone’s moonlit glow. The shoulders are delicately carved with scroll and foliate motifs typical of the period.
15 carat gold is an obsolete British standard, discontinued in 1932, and is now highly sought after by collectors.
