Large Antique English Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Box - 1895

Description

Always wonderful to find these romantic heart shaped boxes in a large size, this one measuring 2 7/8" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" to the top of the domed lid.

The top is adorned with a plethora of repousse decoration surrounding a vacant cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith, if you would like to personalize it. The sides have a combination of embossed and engraved decoration.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a beautiful clean interior with the hallmark for Birmingham 1895, together with the makers initials C.C. for Colen Hewer Cheshire.
