Early Oak Carved Marriage Chest or Coffer 1671 Dated

Description

Superb late 17th. century carved oak marriage chest with carved frieze, panels and drawer fronts. The central panel dated 1671. Oak lined drawers with original iron escutcheons and locks. Paneled ends and back, Original iron strap hinges to cleeted lid. In stunning un-touched original condition with no breaks, damage or repairs. Great original carving. Wonderful deep oak colour with superb waxed patina. It glows. One of the best I have seen. The images just do not do it justice. FRESH ON MARKET STRAIGHT FROM SCOTTISH MANSION HOUSE.
