Description

Excellent Japanese Meiji period cloisonne vase, circa 1900

Made by and marked for the Ando workshop with raised wire enamel mark.

Solid silver wires, base and rim, base stamped with Japanese character hall mark.

Cloisonne decoration of Japanese flowering tree, flowers and birds over a deep blue almost black enamel ground, tiny yellow cloisonne borders meeting the silver mounts, green counter enamel interior and base.

Height 4,3/4" or 122mm, weight 258 grams.

In excellent condition with no damage or repair.
