Bodhisattva of Compassion in East Asian Buddhism
Circa 1930 and with lovely patina to the bronze
Guanyin is seated in the lotus position (padmasana) upon a double-lotus pedestal base.

Right hand raised in the vitarka mudra (gesture of teaching), left hand cradling a vase symbolising the nectar of compassion
This piece likely originates from China or Japan, possibly dating to the late Qing Dynasty or early 20th century, and would have served as an altar statue in a temple or a home shrine
