Delft Kraak style plates are 17th-century Dutch tin-glazed earthenware dishes crafted to imitate Chinese Wanli export porcelain. They feature characteristic panelled borders and central botanical or animal motifs executed in cobalt blue paint.

These pieces were shaped from earthenware clay and dipped in an opaque white glaze containing tin oxide. Craftsmen then painted intricate decoration directly onto the unfired glaze using cobalt minerals before firing the dish in a kiln.
