Stunning Jugendstil Silver And Enamel Brooch With Opals & Rubies Levinger & Bissinger C1905

Wonderful little Jugendstil silver and enamel brooch from the Pforzheim manufactory of Emil Levinger & Karl Bissinger, circa 1905. Lovely sinuous design, the enamel with soft green and blue tones, set with opals and rubies and with a natural pearl drop. The opals with a lovely play of colour including reds. The geometric diamond shape at the base of the brooch gives the piece an Art Deco feel. Heinrich Levinger began manufacturing jewellery in Pforzheim in1875 and died in 1899. The Emil Levinger and Karl Bissenger partnership ran from 1903 until 1909. Pieces made during this period are marked ‘DÉPOSÉ’ and ‘900” for the silver standard. This piece is a known Levinger and Bisseinger design and comes from an important Arts & Crafts jewellery colletcion.
 
Condition: In lovely collector’s condition the pin with some play but secure in the c clasp.
