This is a beautiful antique German silver Boar head pommel handled walking stick, dated 1889.
The striking stick features a highly detailed boar head silver handle with superb detailed cast decoration on a gently tapering ebonized wood shaft with its original brass ferrule.
It is inscribed Weihnachen 1889 (Christmas 1889) with a crown oak tree and monogram (The Order of the Oak Crown, of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg).
The Order of the Oak Crown (French: Ordre de la Couronne de chźne, German: Eichenlaubkronenorden, Luxembourgish: Eechelaafkrounenuerden) is an order of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Order of the Oak Crown remained a solely Luxembourgish honour; subsequently, the Netherlands established the Order of Orange-Nassau instead.
Since the accession of Grand Duke Adolphe, the order has been primarily used as an award for Luxembourgish citizens, although membership has occasionally been conferred on foreigners, mainly on members of foreign royal famil
...ies or on eminent foreigners with Luxembourgish ancestors.
Add an extravagant element to your daily life with this wonderful walking cane.
