Victorian Antique Gold and Agate Scottish Brooch. C.1880

Description

A beautiful Victorian antique gold and agate circular brooch. Probably made in Edinburgh around 1860-1880. As usual Scottish brooches are not hallmarked but it has tested as gold. The outer circle has six moss agates and engraved Celtic knotwork designs. The inner Maltese shaped cross is set with four moss agates and a carnelian central stone The brooch is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. It is an extremely wearable and collectable piece of Scottish jewellery.
