Lovely Antique Brass Box with Bear Finial – Circa 1920

Description

A Lovely Antique Brass Box topped with a charmingly detailed bear figure holding a staff. The bear sits proudly on the lid, its fur and expression carefully rendered, bringing character and life to the piece. Such figural boxes were popular in the late 19th to early 20th century and often served as novelty desk or dressing table accessories.

Height: 3" (approx. 7.5cm)

Diameter: 2 3/4" (approx. 7cm)

In good condition – Brass shows light wear and patina consistent with age, enhancing its character. Velvet interior retains much of its original colour, with gentle wear expected from age and use.
