Description

A French pair of gilded bronze and crystal 4 light wall lights, the square gauge scrolling arms with circular bobeche drip pans and bulbous leaf candle sconces, issuing from a leaf central band and scrolling leaf canopy with 2 internal light fittings, decorated overall with graduated swaged crystal faceted pendants, lovely quality gilding. Fully rewired and PAT tested. All our wall lights come with aged brass screws for fixing and spare bulbs. Matching Chandelier available.

French gilded bronze wall lights, also known as appliques, feature cast bronze or brass frames finished with gold gilding and fitted with decorative candle arms and crystal drops.

These wall sconces were constructed using cast bronze or brass bases, mercury or electro-gilded surface treatments, and cut glass or lead crystal pendants and octagonal beads.

Authentic period pieces display hand-chased metalwork details, casting seams, natural oxidisation on the unexposed rear surfaces, and hand-cut lead crystal drops attached with wire pins.

Position the pair symmetrically on either side of a hallway mirror, above a dining room sideboard, or flanking a mantelpiece to provide layered accent illumination.
